How we showed up for each other and ourselves in August

Welcome to this month’s Supper Club Scrapbook! In the Supper Club Discord, we share what we’re working on, what we’re excited about, and how we’re showing up for our neighbors. Every month, I’ll be sharing a little cross-section of what our community is up to.

As I am writing this, it's less than a day until the series finale of Neighborhood Watch comes out. Writing comics is an incredible privilege – I get to collaborate with brilliant artists across multiple stages of creation to tell serialized stories. It's also kind of bizarre, because it moves so fast. It feels like yesterday issue #1 was coming out, and now here we are at the end. Anyway, I hope you read it, and if you read it, I hope you love it.

My dad and I went to see the Mariners play the Tigers last week. We left after the fifth due to poor air quality from smoke but we had great seats.

Saschka ^_^,

Solar eclipse shadows from today.

Hilary

A bit after the fact, but me and my buddy took 3rd in our divisions at a big archery tournament two weeks ago!

Nicole

I presented at When Words Collide in Calgary this past weekend, and while I didn't plan for my outfit to match my book cover that's absolutely what happened. 😂

Hilary

Made a new mini stamp this afternoon. Truly never throw away your offcuts of lino/speedycarve until they're microscopic. Part of my collection of little guys.

I'm at the Mariners game and I am here entirely for the Care Bear which I had to buy a special ticket to get a view from my seat, I'm all the way up but there are no real bad seats in T-Mobile Park.

Hilary

Spent the morning out shooting with another tgirl. Put up a couple real nice groups about it.

Closest I've ever come to a robin hood. I think my arrow came in at just enough of an angle that it deflected rather than embedding itself in my buddy's.

Emily

I am inordinately proud of this chonky friend, which I actually made in July but picked up from its kiln trips in August. Who knew I was a secret lefty at pottery?

Hilary

A few eclipse pics (last one through a window, hence the doubling).

Ria

I actually bought this pin at the end of July but have been especially fond of it lately, for obvious reasons.

It’s not going how I hoped but I’m still very proud of the movie I made, even though I get yelled at every time I refer to it as my movie. I hope folks will come see it if it is showing in a town near you.
