The United States is about to hold a general election. This election will decide our president, as well as many important down-ticket positions and ballot measures. If you are eligible to vote in this election, it’s absolutely vital that you confirm your voter registration status, fill out your ballot, and track your ballot in order to be sure your vote was counted. Voter rolls are being purged and tampered with on a regular basis throughout the United States, so being previously registered to vote is not a guarantee of your current status.
It’s normal to feel scared about the outcome of this one. It’s reasonable to feel helpless, angry, and sad. We shouldn’t be facing down such high stakes, but we are. The best thing you can do is stay present for yourself and your community; extend compassion and act on your principles; and show up as a grounded, active force for change. This is how we continue operating under impossible circumstances. This is how we care for each other through the hardest times.
Care for yourself and the people around you. Believe that the world can be better than it is now. Never give up.
