Announcing Hellraiser: New Parables
Welcome to the Stone Soup Digest! This is where I share what I'm up to and some of my favorite things from around the internet. Subscribe to Stone Soup to get this in your inbox on the regular.
Thank you, Portland!
I just flew out of Portland and into Chicago! I’m succumbing to the derangement that comes from having too much fun meeting all of you. Parallel Worlds hosted a Spread Me book club event where I got to chat with Portland luminary Kelsea Yu & deface a bunch of literature. Then I rolled right on into Rose City Comic Con for a weekend of panels, signings, meetings, and—most important—decent gluten-free paninis.

I have missed Portland terribly. Did I ever tell you I lived there for a single lonely damp year? I made a friend who became family to me, I learned to drink whiskey, I wrote The Echo Wife while I watched stormclouds roll across my apartment building. Whenever I come back to Portland, I roll down the window in the back of my taxi and suck down as much of that beautiful green air as I can. I can’t wait to visit again.
Announcing Hellraiser: New Parables
The cat is out of the bag at last! Announcing my forthcoming Hellraiser series, New Parables, with art by the absolutely incredible Savanna Mayer!! In many ways, Clive Barker’s art turned me into a horror fan, and I am so honored to get to work with Savanna, editor Ari Yarwood, and the rest of our team at BOOM! to tell Hellraiser stories.
NEW LOCATION: Book Release Party for We Love You, Bunny
I’ll be rounding out the month by heading down to San Diego for a conversation and Q&A with Mona Awad celebrating the release of We Love You Bunny. There’s a new location, so update your calendars and say you’ll come!

Featured New Release: Wickhills by Premee Mohamed

Looking after a defecting scientist should have been Vycol Ferec's easiest mission. But now he's on the run from the intelligence agency he works for, dodging a handler who might have gone rogue and relying on a secret patchwork of illicit resources and dodgy contacts. Turns out his defector might be carrying an apocalypse-level magical weapon — and protecting it requires Ferec and his team to go underground, literally. Down here, the rules are very different... and the tense peace between every city in the world will shatter unless Ferec can drag their darkest secrets into the light.

Currently Reading: Felicity Complex by August Clarke

Welcome to the Felicity Complex! Constructed during the height of the Cold War, our unique hotel is prepared to protect you, the billionaire class, from nuclear annihilation! Shielded from radiation and supplemented with closed air systems and hydroponic gardens, this resort bunker offers a prime existence underground: full gymnasium and spa, gourmet meals, top-tier medical care, and the best in entertainment.
Meet Hallelujah! Grown in a lab and educated in the ways of concierge hospitality, she believes in her duty to comfort the Lord-anointed refugees of the apocalypse. (Even if her lover Anastasia disagrees. Even if her creator Dr. Younghusband is disappointed in her.) Don’t worry—everyone is safe from communists in the Felicity Complex!
Look, Hallelujah, guests have finally arrived! Hallelujah and her sister specimens have waited ages for you. Never mind the secrets other rich survivalists may be hiding. Just make sure they don’t notice the violent intentions behind our staff’s wide, wide smiles…
